Robert Lokuta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bosak Funeral Home - Stamford on Jan. 30, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Edward Lokuta, a dedicated father, grandfather, uncle and confidant to countless friends passed away on January 26, 2026.

Born on Yonkers, NY on May 23, 1947, he was the beloved son of William and Alice Lokuta.

He was devout Catholic as a participant of several local parishes and his faith. Bob was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School and Iona College. He was a commended musician taught by his most loved mentor, his music teacher, Gino. His instruments of specialty were the accordion and piano. Yet, if you gave him an instrument he could play it for you. His passion was music, as he played at Carnegie Hall in his youth and had a band where he played for weddings with his best friend, Jimmy Caputo, father of Bob's goddaughter. His obsessions were his children, family, friends, food and anyone who'd want to join him to enjoy the above.

He is survived by his beloved children, Michele and Mark Lokuta and Krista Cashman, his adored son-in-law, Jonathan Martin, his daughter-in-law, Luz Lokuta, his grandchildren, Jaydin and Jace Martin, and his nieces and nephew, Amanda, Adam and Hannah Lokuta. Also surviving are his friends, Jimmy and Kay Caputo amongst many others.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved parents, his brothers and best friends, Vincent and Greg Lokuta and his goddaughter, Alexis Caputo.

Bob's door was always open and his heart was never full. He lived by the words of Emma Lazarus, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

He will be greatly missed and sends his eternal love to every soul that passed through his door. He is not gone, he has just passed on to a different place to continue to watch over all whom he has ever known.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, February 4th, at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Prayer Service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home.
