Robert Lombardo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. on Aug. 22, 2024.
Lombardo, Robert M.
Sunday, August 18, 2024, at age 75. Predeceased by his father and mother, Frank and Frances Lombardo; brother-in-law, Salvatore Guzzetta. He is survived by his sister, Joan Guzzetta; brother, Donald P. Lombardo; nieces and nephews, Holly (Craig) McNair, Matthew Guzzetta, Anthony (Veronica) Guzzetta, Nicole (David) Evers; many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
After graduating from Edison Technical High School, Bob joined the Navy where he learned and worked for three years. He was deployed to the Azores while in active duty and assigned to Communications Group.
When he left the service, Bob was hired by Eastman Kodak where he worked for 17 years. During his later years at Kodak, he volunteered at Perinton Volunteer Ambulance and attended classes at MCC. Although quiet, Bob found enjoyment at the VA especially when welcoming older vets who returned from Honor Flight. He also participated in several groups at the VA throughout the years by talking about difficulties in his everyday life. Through these groups he met many veterans and enjoyed getting to know them better.
Bob's greatest joy was taking care of our mom after dad passed away. Cooking, cleaning, and driving her to appointments, Bob did it with a happy heart. He also had a fondness for music from the 1960's and listened to the radio while drinking coffee and having a cigarette or two.Yes, we will miss our brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, but he's not in pain any longer. God bless you, Bob. Love you always.
No prior calling. On Tuesday, August 27, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Parish of the Holy Family Church. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Those wishing, donations may be directed to Honor Flight Rochester, PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692 or to Parish of the Holy Family Church, 4100 Lyell Rd., Rochester, NY 14606 in his memory. Robert's family would like to thank the nurses and aides on Floor W2 at Waterview Heights Rehab and Nursing Center, and the palliative care team at Strong Memorial Hospital for their love, care and support.
