Robert Gary Lowman, age 87, died on July 26th, 2025. He passed away peacefully at his home in Ludington, MI surrounded by his family. Robert was born January 5, 1938 in Paw Paw, MI to Glenn and Margaret (Barker) Lowman. He was a 1956 graduate of Lawton High School and earned his degrees from Western Michigan University in 1960, 1964, and 1973.

Robert and Mary Sue Grigg were married on February 9, 1963. Surviving are his wife and their three children: Colby Lowman (Sarah) of Ludington, Heidi Lowman of Huntington Beach, CA, Shelby Lowman (Elaine) of Ridgefield, CT, and grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter Lindy (1965), and son Bradley (1991).

Robert was an educator for 40 years, having served as a teacher, athletic coach, and school administrator. He worked for three school districts: Paw Paw Public Schools (1960-1964), Marshall Public Schools (1965-1987), and Calhoun County Intermediate School District (1988-2000).

Robert had a lifelong interest in history and was especially active in promoting and preserving Marshall's history.

A family graveside service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater.
