Robert (Mac) Hopper went to be with his heavenly Father on March 22, after a sudden illness. Mac is being cremated, and we will be having a celebration of life open house at a later date. If you knew Mac, you were a lucky person. He was a friendly, big-hearted man, who was the life of the party. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell dad jokes. He was the speech coach and the director of the fall play for several years at Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman Iowa. All the students who he coached or directed became “his” kids and he treated them as though they were family. He was a very loyal person, once his friend, always his friend. Even if he had not seen you in years, you were still a close friend.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents Alexa & BJ Hopper, and both sets of grandparents. Mac is survived by his wife Penny Hopper, son’s Drew Hopper and Phil Radeboldt and wife Ashley Radeboldt, grandchildren Dwight and Brooklyn Radeboldt, daughter Lillian Radeboldt, and grand-kitty Jack. Oh! Before I forget Mac’s favorite joke: How do you keep someone in suspense? Well, Mac has now mastered that!
