Robert E. Malenfant

CARIBOU – Robert E. Malenfant, 78, died July 29, 2023 in Presque Isle following a brief illness. He was born in Caribou, October 19, 1944, the son of the late Eldige and Priscilla (Belanger) Malenfant. Robert was a 1962graduate of Caribou High School, and following high school graduation he served with the Army National Guard. Bob was truly a "jack-of-all-trades." He could build, drywall, and paint a home – while also keeping the books for the project. Bob also sold tractors, was a machinist at Maine Military Authority, and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Elaine (Guerrette) Malenfant of Caribou, brothers, Philip Malenfant and wife Marie of North Pole, Alaska, Bill Malenfant and wife Mary Jean of Sebastian, Florida, Gregory Malenfant and wife Karen of Caribou, a sister, Pat Jackson and husband Helston of Caribou, a sister-in-law, Nancy Malenfant and son Kirk of Augusta, many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by 4 siblings, Galen and Gary Malenfant, and Joyce Johnston and Phyllis Bramblette.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 10AM until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in New Holy Rosary Cemetery. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will follow in the church hall.
