I just came across this while looking up some memories in New Britain from my college days. Looking up Bubby's family business led me to an obituary and a sudden horrific shock! I can't believe Bubby has passed away! We were good friends in college, starting, I believe, from being lab partners in one of our science classes. So many memories around the campus, at Elmers, at our Townhouse parties... He was a friend you could totally trust and count on! A guy with so much warmth and charisma and humor! Everyone loved him!
My deepest condolences to his family and dear ones! May your wonderful memories sustain you in this loss!

I met Bobby when I met his brother Peter. I was an awkward kid. Bobby made me feel welcome at East Side. I was amazed by all the cool stuff that was going on in the shop. Bobby always had a smile, a funny story and was most of all kind and welcoming. He and Peter bailed me out many times when I thought I could fix something myself and they generously helped me correct my mistakes. I will always remember Bobby's easy smile, the beer he offered (when I was old enough of course :-) ) at the end of the day and his dedication to his family and his work. He was unique and full of life. Hope you're enjoying a cold one and a laugh where you are Bobby, you earned it.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to: Jutta, Ted, Marion, Peter, Katie, & Nathan for the loss of Bob. My original memories of Bob and the Mankowski family go back to our days on McKinley Drive in New Britain. Our families stayed in touch for many years, which left me with many lasting memories. The last time I saw Bob was when George passed away, and now George has a partner in whatever business he decided to start in the afterlife.
May you all find comfort in knowing that his spirit will always be with you, and you will always have all the memories he has left you with.
May God bless all of you;

RIP, Bob. While I didn't know you like my wife, Rene, every time we interacted, it was a wonderful experience. You will be missed.

Jutta: Ray Kosinski here: I remember you and George from High Street. You were embraced as family. George was larger than life. Wondered how a Pole and a German got along. Now know it is love. Remember my Mom Sophie bragging about how one of your sons was involved in making a cement canoe in school. How does it float? Talk about America: you and George created a family, a life, and the contrbution with your children. I'm heading to 74. Never want my child to die before me. Heartfelt sorrow. Jutta: remember you fondly. Love, Raymond

My condolences for Bob's family and friends, it's hard to find words to express this loss. I met Bob in high school, and enjoyed keeping in touch with him through the years.
Always the charmer, Bob had a gift for connecting with people, something I always admired about him. Whenever I stopped by to visit the shop, even if I hadn't seen him for a year, it was so easy to reconnect & catch up on family. I'll miss that...
I also admired his creativity - if he could imagine it, he could build it. In today's disposable world, Bobby fixed things, repurposed things, and he made them to LAST!
RIP Bubs!

The clothes line pole that Bob made for our home still stands probably from some 40 years ago, if not more. My deepest sympathy goes out to Jutta, Bob's two children and the rest of the family who have lost a fantastic brother. May God bless you all.

My condolences to the Mankowski family for Bob's passing, so many memories going back to our many years together at Holy Cross and St. Thomas Aquinas, how when we were kids at school we would occasionally run into each other at the soccer games at Dillion Stadium in Hartford that our fathers took us to see. One of the greatest guys anyone can have and consider a friend it was Bub's. I'll miss you pal, always enjoyed the occasional bump in with you and enjoying so many laughs and stories of what we shared. RIP Bob. Ray Fratipietro

Your Dad was an inventive guy
I will cherish my `ed washing machine metal tub burn barrel (I think of him every time I use it (almost 10 years now)
May you both find comfort in knowing that he has become another in the sky, and will send you subtle reminders from above that he is still with you.
