Robert L. "Bob" Markley

Robert L. "Bob" Markley, age 81, of Orrville, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, following a period of declining health.
Born on July 17, 1944, in Wooster, Bob was the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Cunningham) Markley. He graduated from Orrville High School in 1963 and married the love of his life, Karen J. Nolt, on February 14, 1964, in Orrville. They shared many wonderful years together before her passing on April 8, 2015.
Bob earned his Bachelor's Degree from The University of Akron and later completed his Master's Degree at Kent State University in 1982. He devoted 31 years to teaching as a welding instructor at the Wayne County Career Center, retiring in 2008. His dedication to his students and his craft left a lasting impact on many.
A member of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville, Bob found his greatest joy in time spent with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
Surviving are his sons, Denny (Brenda) Markley of Canfield and Drew (Lisa) Markley of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Carson, Elena, and Alexis Markley; two brothers, Donald Markley of Akron and Larry (Sally) Markley of Orrville; and a sister-in-law, Jelyane Markley.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Dean Robert Markley, and brothers, Roger and Melvin Markley.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on December 22, 2025, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating and will be live-streamed on the funeral home Youtube page at https://youtube.com/@aublefuneralhomes. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
