Robert C. McCloe, 72, of Binghamton went to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by family on February 1, 2024.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Warren and Louise McCloe, brothers Bernard, Jack, and Bruce McCloe.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon McCloe, son Jeffrey (Kate) McCloe, daughters Katie (Kevin) Butenko, Hannah (Michael) Rosenthal, grandchildren: Gabriel and Nathan McCloe; Ethan, Audrey, Dylan, and Natalie Butenko; Sarah and Laura Rosenthal. Bob also leaves behind his sister Ann Fulk, brothers James (Marlene), Warren, Ted (Joyce, his Yankee buddy) McCloe along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob served his country in the United States Army. He was employed at Giant Markets and later Security Mutual. Bob gave back to his community coaching YMCA basketball, Binghamton Little League, and girls softball.
Known as an avid New York Yankees fan, he also enjoyed playing pool, shuffleboard, and was a self-described golf hacker. He loved his family fiercely and sacrificed without complaint. Bob was energetic, funny, the best grandpa, and the worst winner ever!
Family will receive friends at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, LLC, 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, NY 13903 on Tuesday February 6, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be held Tuesday February 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Entombment to follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY with military honors.
