John McCloe Jr., 68, of Johnson City, NY, passed away on October 28, 2024. Born on June 24, 1956, in Binghamton, NY, John graduated from Greene High School and dedicated his life to his family.
Growing up, John was a great athlete and carried his love of sports throughout his life. He was a passionate sports fan, always cheering for the Yankees and Giants. John enjoyed coaching youth baseball, attending Yankees games with his family, and playing golf, bowling, and softball. He spent many years as a circuit board technician at Universal Instruments and later worked at UHS Hospital. Known for his great sense of humor, John brought joy and laughter to those around him.
John is survived by his wife, Mary McCloe; son and daughter in law, Trevor and Samantha McCloe; grandson, Jack McCloe; nephew Paul Kamide Jr, several brother and sister in laws, and special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ann McCloe, and his brother, Michael McCloe.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 4, at Barber Memorial Home in Johnson City from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 5, at St. James Church in Johnson City at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, or The American Parkinson Disease Association.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
