Robert "Buck" McDaniel, age 84, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 9, 1941, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Buck graduated from Lafayette High School in 1959 and proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force that same year. He served two years on active duty followed by two years in the reserves, demonstrating his deep commitment to his country.
In 1962, Buck began a 28-year career with IBM, where he was known for his dedication and work ethic. Upon retirement, he devoted his time and heart to Eastland Church of God, where he was honored as a Lifetime Services recipient for his unwavering faith and service.
Buck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joys came from spending time with his family, serving his church, and cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats - Go Cats! He also enjoyed golf, racing, and college sports, always embracing life with passion and purpose.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Virginia) "Scott" McDaniel; grandson, Matthew "Corey" McDaniel; granddaughters, Whitney (Alex) Berger and Courtney McDaniel; great-grandson, Max Allen Tipton; and great-granddaughters, Hayley, Vivian, Renee Berger, and Iris McDaniel.
Buck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Ann (Davis) McDaniel; daughter, Tamara "Tammy" McDaniel; mother, Marian McDaniel; father, Roy McDaniel; and brothers, Gerald P. and Larry R. McDaniel.
Buck's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Service 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Eastland Church of God 2598 Liberty Road Lexington, KY. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
