Robert L. "Bob" Meeker, age 77, was called into the presence of the Lord at 1:48 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with his loving wife by his side.
Bob was born on October 23, 1947, in Lima, OH, to the late Robert and Wanda (Crouch) Meeker. On September 14, 1991, he married Toneta Bryan-Meeker.
Bob was a 1967 graduate of Lima Senior High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Bob had previously worked at Lima Burial Vault, Ben's Construction and he had a passion for working on cars, having worked at Midas Muffler and retiring from Accubuilt. He loved restoring old cars and owned several old cars throughout the years. He loved attending swap meets, especially in Gas City, Indiana. Together with his wife, Toneta he loved playing Mr. and Mrs. Claus for countless events throughout the years, since 1984.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Toneta L. "Toni" Bryan-Meeker of Elida; grandchildren, Cale (Joelle) Bryan of Sacramento, CA, and Rebekah (Patrick) Burbach of Tipp City; great-grandchildren, Harper and Archie Bryan, and Silas, Phinis and Angus Burbach; sisters, Linda Craft, and Patty (Mike) Hefner both of Lima; brother-in-law, Danny Hefner of Lima; brother-in-law, Rick (Bev) Long of Alger; aunt, Patricia "Pat" Mills of Lima; daughter-in-law, Kristine Bryan-Stewart of Troy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepsons, Anthony Allen "Tony" Bryan, and Cristopher "Cris" Joseph Bryan; infant brother, Ronnie Meeker; Sister, Shirley Hefner; in-laws, Richard O. "Dick" and Evelyn Mae (Line) Long; and uncle, Robert "Bob" Mills.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Russ Thomas and Dr. Tim White will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery following the service with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy and VFW #1275.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the funeral home.
