Robert L. Mertz, 68, of Wilson Borough, PA, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, in St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem Campus.
Born January 17, 1956, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Kenneth S. and Betty Jane (Sutton) Mertz.
He and his wife, Virginia (Garofalo) Mertz, have been together for 45 years.
Bob graduated from Easton Area High School, Class of 1974.
He was last employed by Delaware Canal-DCNR. Previously, he worked for Mobile Chemical Company, formerly of Washington, NJ.
Bob enjoyed tropical fish and reptiles.
He was a member of Citizens Hose Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Virginia, is a stepdaughter, Barbara Sands, of Nazareth; a stepson, Larry Gunderman, of Stockertown; two brothers, Bruce Mertz and his wife Terri, of Easton and Kenneth Mertz, Jr., of Allentown; a sister, Tammy Mertz and her husband Luis Ortiz, of Easton; two step-grandsons; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda (Mertz) Sherman and a niece, Melissa S. Mertz.
