Robert Lorain Moreland

Robert Lorain Moreland, 86, of Clear Brook, VA, died Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, VA.

Robert was born November 22, 1939 in North River Mills, WV, the son of the late Flora Lee Funk Moreland and John Franklin Moreland. He married Shirley Irene Russell Moreland on April 15, 1960 in Hagerstown, MD. He worked for Crown, Cork & Seal for over 30 years. Robert was a long-time member of Abundant Life Church in Stephens City, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley: his daughter, Robin M. Strosnider (Jake), of Stephens City; four grandchildren, Kirsten Lanham (Jeremiah), Brian Emmart (Lindsey), Robert Strosnider, and Brandon Strosnider (Alyssa Landis); and three great grandchildren, Millie Emmart, Lane Emmart, and Zoey Emmart. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanna M. Emmart; three sisters, Leona Snyder, Bessie Cowger, and Margaret Moreland; and three brothers, Theodore Moreland, Junior Moreland, and Russell Moreland.

There will be a visitation on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Abundant Life Church with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Brian Emmart, Robert Strosnider, Brandon Strosnider, Michael "Spanky" Taylor, Hunter Taylor, and Pat Bailey will serve as pallbearers.
