Robert Lee “Bob” Newbry, age 82, of Elkhart, passed away on October 30, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1942, in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, to the late Robert Earl and Carol L. (Hall) Newbry. After graduating high school, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later enjoyed a long career as a truck driver with Smokercraft in Elkhart.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert L. Newbry of Henderson, Texas; Margaret (Gary) Adams of Hartman, Arkansas; and Justin L. (Sarah) Newbry of Noblesville, Indiana along with 2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Rosa M. (Wayne) Moore of Greenfield, Ohio; Earl B. Newbry of Naples, Florida; Mary K. (Gordon) Foster and Patricia M. (Robert) Williams, both of Goshen, Indiana; and Eugene R. (Freida) Newbry of Hillsboro, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather A. Sunday, and his brother, Alan W. Newbry.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at People’s Bible Church, 68074 US-33, Goshen, IN 46528. Cruz Family Funeral Home of Osceola is assisting with arrangements.
Bob was a longtime member of People’s Bible Church and deeply loved his church family. He enjoyed woodworking and had a gift for connecting with others. He never met a stranger. Above all, Bob was devoted and protective of his family and siblings.
