Robert Alan Parr

Robert (Bob) Parr, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 10, 2023. He was born on April 14, 1930 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Emerson and Mable Parr. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, of 67 years. His wonderful legacy lives on in his son, Gregory (Dawn) and his granddaughters Jackie, Kelly (Billy) and Teegan (Brad) whom he loved fiercely. He is predeceased by his brother David (Lois).
Robert received his bachelor's degree from Albion College in 1952 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1955. Bob was a partner at Matheson, Bieneman and Parr Law Firm in Detroit from 1955 until his retirement in 2002. Bob practiced labor law and represented management of the Western Conference of the National Automobile Transport and Labor Division, spending twelve weeks each year traveling the West Coast and igniting his love of travel. Bob was actively involved in negotiations with the Teamsters Union for much of his career and wrote many Teamsters contracts in the 60's and 70's.
Bob never lost his love for travel, especially when accompanied by his wife, son and grandchildren. He continued to travel after his retirement including annual trips to Las Vegas with his son and friends for March Madness, which was his favorite time of year. Bob loved his Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions. He was an accomplished bridge player and loved all card games. Most of all, he loved his family and is dearly missed by each one of them. A service of celebration for Bob's life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
