Robert David Plessinger

Robert David Plessinger, age 67, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. He was born on August 23, 1956, in Terre Haut, Indiana, to Leland and Josephine (Polifroni) Plessinger.
Robert graduated from Greencastle High School in 1974 and went on to attend the National Hardwood Lumber Association to become a certified wood inspector. He spent his whole life in the lumber industry, first working as the head sawyer then later as a logger. He left logging to buy standing timber and grading lumber and did that until he retired. Robert loved gardening, canning, fishing, and taking the boat out onto Rebeck Lake. He was a huge Tigers fan and never missed a game. He loved everything baseball and enjoyed traveling to all the major and minor league ballparks.
Robert is survived by his pride and joy daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Ferrier of Montgomery; two brothers, Phil (Carla) Plessinger of Greencastle, Indiana, and Chris (Gretl) Plessinger of Tallahassee, Florida; and his special four-legged friends, Whiskey, Cragen "Butch," and Farley.
He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved dog, Sandy
Per his wishes there will be no services for Robert Plessinger. Arrangements have been entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
