With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Lee Powless on April 9th, 2025, at the age of 74. He left this world surrounded by love, leaving a legacy of kindness, hard work, and an enduring passion for life. While we mourn his departure, we celebrate the remarkable man he was and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Born in Worms, Germany, on December 18th, 1950, to Everett and Elisabeth Powless, Lee was a man of ingenuity and dedication from a young age. His love for cars blossomed into a lifelong career as a skilled mechanic. Lee spent countless hours in the garage, pouring his heart and soul into every engine he worked on. He wasn't just fixing cars; he was building trust, forming friendships, and turning his craft into a service that touched the lives of many. Whether tinkering under the hood or sharing stories, Robert's passion for his work was matched only by his genuine warmth.
Family was Lee's greatest treasure. He was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He instilled in his family the values of hard work, honesty, and perseverance, which continue to guide and inspire them. Lee's laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love created a bond that will remain unbroken, even as we say goodbye.
Beyond his career and family, Lee found joy in fixing cars, carpentry, and many other things. He approached life humbly and gratefully, savoring the small, quiet moments and grand adventures. He lived each day with a spirit of resilience and an unwavering faith in people's goodness.
Robert is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Charlene Powless; his children, Edward Powless and Tara Powless; three granddaughters, Cheyenne Powless, Emma Lee Powless, and Madelyn Nicole Powless; a great granddaughter, Cameryn Fox; siblings Patricia Fagan Greco, Cheryl Schmitz, Violet Graber; nephews and nieces Nick Powless, Corey Powless, Chris Powless, Jennifer Gibson, Mara Serwe, Kylie Sprecher, Kenny Gilbert, Lauren Matschull, Alex Graber, and Courtney Stevenson; and a dedicated companion, Shirley Dockery who lovingly cared for him in his final days. Waiting for him at his final destination, he will find those who preceded him: Everett Lee Powless (father), Elisabeth Fagan(mother), Edward Fagan(father), and Roy Melvin Powless(brother).
Robert Lee Powless will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Rest in peace, Lee. You were a cornerstone of your community, a champion to your family, and an inspiration to all.
