Robert Edwin "Bobby" Raines, a beloved resident of Hartsville, South Carolina, was born on March 15, 1943, and passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina.
Bobby retired from Sonoco Products Company after an impressive 40 years of dedicated service. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. Bobby cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, Alexandria McKnight of Greenville, NC, and Karis McKnight of Florence.
A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bobby's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both challenges and joyous moments. He found joy in simple pastimes; notably, he had a remarkable talent for restoring early 60 model Corvettes and was skilled in painting and working on motorcycles. Bobby also had a deep appreciation for the beach, where he often found peace and solace.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Connie McAlister Raines; his daughter, Lisa Raines McKnight and her husband Timothy of Florence; and his son, Devin Raines of Hartsville, he is also survived by his fur baby, his loving cat Ellie.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edwin Raines, Jr. and Johnnie Outlaw Raines, as well as his sister, Lynn Raines.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during the visitation to be held on February 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Norton Funeral Home and Crematory in Hartsville. The funeral service will take place the following day, February 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Norton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.
