Robert Rauch Obituary

Dr. Robert Raymond Rauch, Jr., born August 22, 1957, died June 13, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves behind his wife, Amira Naguib. They were married for 8 years.

Bob was Valedictorian of the Lenox Memorial High School Class of 1975 and was a member of the school newspaper and the chess club.He earned his sports letter as the Basketball Team Manager during their Massachusetts state championship seasons. He went to and graduated from Dartmouth College. From there he went on to medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating as a Doctor of Psychiatry. He then served with honors in the United States Air Force for 4 years as a Major and was in Desert Storm. After that he was a practicing psychiatrist in various states of the U.S, finally settling in San Antonio where he met his wife Amira, whom he called his "Princess" and dearly loved.

On July 7, 2025, Bob was interred in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military burial honors, including a 21-gun salute.

Rob was such a nice guy. I was a basketball manager at the same time as him. I think he did it at the time to step out of his usual roles. Like everything else he did, he did it at the highest level. Condolences to his family and friends.

As an exceptionally bright student in the ninth grade, Robert produced a great many short essays for class and generally set a high standard in a group of bright, vocal, and engaging kids. He won my admiration for his awareness of and consideration for his compatriots, thereby making this young English teacher´s work a daily joy. Robert led a wonderfully consequential life and suffered too early a loss for the rest of us.
