Robert Edwin Robinson, Jr.April 14, 1961 - September 24, 2025

Whether you knew him as Robert, Rob Bob, Rob, or Bert - once you met him, you were no longer a stranger. On September 24, 2025, at the age of 64, Robert Edwin Robinson, Jr. passed away in Austin, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unforgettable stories.

Born in Houston, Texas, Robert lived life out loud. He was the kind of man who collected people - and nicknames - along the way. A proud Sharpstown Apollo (Class of '79) and Texas State Bobcat (Class of '83), he wore many hats throughout his life: licensed pilot, loyal Houston Astros and Texans fan, skater, bowler, catcher, golfer, jouster, and devoted dog lover. He could just as easily be found skating downtown as he could cheering from the stands or stealing someone's birthday (IYKYK).

Robert was a beloved part of many tribes - the Urban Animals, the BFHs, the Green Mesquite family - and in every circle, he was known for his dry humor, quick wit, and even quicker laugh. He lived with joy, gave generously, and treated everyone like an old friend.

He is survived by his wife, Tai Saxon; his father, Robert E. Robinson, Sr.; his mother, Winifred M. Davis; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Lynn Brayshaw; along with nieces and nephews who will forever remember "Uncle Bert" with love and smiles.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jerry W. Milton, another soul gone too soon.

There's no doubt Robert's already catching up with Mark Schiller on things from the other side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 14th at 6:00 PM at Green Mesquite, 1400 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704. Come as you are, raise a glass, and help us honor a life well and wildly lived.
