Brent Allison Hilliard, a man whose kindness, intelligence, and gentle nature touched many, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Llano, Texas, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born on October 8, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Brent's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit and a passion for the world around him.

Brent, a proud graduate of Bryan Adams High School in 1980, went on to further his education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated in 1984. His academic achievements set the foundation for a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Brent eventually ventured into business ownership, with his favorite enterprise being Blue Water Divers in Key Largo, Florida. There, he shared his love for scuba diving with families from around the globe, teaching their children to explore the underwater world.

In later years, Brent found joy in serving his community as a school bus driver for Llano ISD. His warm personality and steady presence made him a favorite among students and colleagues alike. Brent's commitment to education and science continued even after his diagnosis, as he made the selfless decision to donate his brain to the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. His contribution to the neurology department's brain bank ensures that his legacy will aid in advancing research for years to come.

Brent's Christian faith was a guiding light throughout his life, providing comfort and strength during his final days. His interests were diverse. From forming a band in high school to his devoted volunteer work at the Kerrville Folk Festival, music was a constant source of joy for Brent. His recent pursuits included studies in forest bathing, where his love for nature deepened, and an exploration of stoic philosophy, which only affirmed what those closest to him had always known-Calm was indeed his superpower.

Preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Jean Huber, his father, Billy Fred Hilliard, and his brothers, Larry McGaffey and Blaine Hilliard, Brent's passing came just nine days after Blaine's. He leaves behind his beloved significant other of over 31 years, Susan Emily Russell, and his cherished niece, Chelsea Hilliard Tyra.

Brent's life was a testament to the power of a kind heart and a keen mind. His gentle approach to life's challenges, and his ability to remain tranquil in the face of adversity, will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the essence of who Brent was will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched.
