Robert “Bob” Eugene Rocque
Beloved Husband, Father, Pepere, Brother, and Uncle
Robert “Bob” Eugene Rocque, 77, was born on April 5, 1948, in Glens Falls, New York, and entered into heaven on September 10, 2025.
As the eldest of seven children, Bob led with warmth, humor, and a steady strength that became the foundation of his family. Growing up as an Air Force brat, he developed resilience, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit that carried him throughout his life.
Bob was a man of boundless passions. He explored the world from the depths of the ocean as an avid scuba diver, to the open skies as a pilot, skydiver, and later a glider enthusiast. He embraced life on the water as a fisherman and water skier, on the road as a Harley Owners Group Director in Orlando, on the mountainside as a rock climber, and on the greens as a lifelong golfer. With a keen eye as a photographer and the skilled hands of a carpenter, he captured beauty and built meaning wherever he went.
Photography was not just a hobby, but a calling. In his early adult years, Bob worked as a professional photographer for a Colorado-based newspaper, and after retiring from AT&T, he returned to his craft at Disney’s ESPN complex, where he once again found joy behind the lens.
Bob’s professional career as a successful account executive at Bellsouth, then AT&T, reflected not only his intelligence and drive but also his natural gift for connecting with people. For more than 25 years, he faced Parkinson’s disease with courage, perseverance, and unshakable dignity—an enduring testament to his character.
He also gave generously of his time and energy as an active and dedicated volunteer for The Russell Home for Atypical Children, where his kindness and commitment touched countless lives.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; daughters Christine Brugman (Col. Jason) and Catherine Ello (Mark); grandchildren Zoë (19), Mia (15), and Jakob (12); and siblings David, Danny, Suzanne, Marc, and Teresa, along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helene and Gene Rocque, and his brother Jamie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation(https://www.parkinson.org) or The Assistance Fund (TAF) (https://tafcares.org).
