I am indebted to Bob for making my transition to Ohio some of the most memorable and joyful times of my life. Both Bob and Carol´s generous hospitality to this new arrival in Ohio is something I will always cherish. Discovering Bob, the fiddle and Ohio during the same year was a gift to me that I am still discovering and enjoying. Once my life got infinitely more complicated with teaching and my own marriage and family, I seldom connected with Bob and for that I am sad. Truly some of the happiest memories I have were flatpicking tunes on our Martins together. In between songs, I would marvel at prints and maps of quaint pictures of New England coastal scenes and marvel that I was hanging out with someone that was actually from there.
