Robert Alvin Rouse

Robert Alvin (Bobby) Rouse, 85, of Ayden, passed away at his home on January 24, 2025.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 2nd, 2:00 PM, at Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Ayden. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Bobby was born on January 6, 1940 in Pitt County to William O. Rouse and Bonnie Ruth Jackson Rouse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Nobles Rouse; his parents; and one brother, William Arthur Rouse.
Bobby grew up in the St. John's community near Grifton, and graduated from Grifton high School in 1958. From there he served his country proudly in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany for several years, along with his wife. After military service, Bobby had a long and successful career of close to 40 years, in management at Stanley Power Tools; later to become the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, in New Bern. Bobby and Elaine raised their two children during this time.
Bobby had many hobbies that included classic cars, racing, traveling, camping, and spending time with family.
He was a member of Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church for many years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Bobby is survived by his: two sons, Robert Alvin (Robbie) Rouse, Jr. and wife, Tina of Winterville, and William Randall Rouse and wife, Sandra of Ayden; brothers, James T. Rouse, and Joseph Degnan; four grandchildren, Matthew Rouse, Justin Rouse and wife, Nikki, Graham Rouse, and Lesliann Cheshire and husband, Drew; six great-grandchildren, Sylas, Jackson, Nash, Chloe, Layla, and Charlotte. He also leaves behind his four-legged companion, Esther (Essie), who he
loved very much
