Robert J. "Bob" Russell, age 73, of Huntingdon Valley, PA formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on August 12, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA, after a brief battle with melanoma.

Born in Philadelphia, Bob was the beloved son of the late John "Jack" and Ruth Russell.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon, with whom he shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. A loving father, Bob will be deeply missed by his sons, Jason (Kristen) and Matt (Cheryl), and his cherished grandchildren Nolan, Anna, and Emma. He is also survived by his sister Lynny Stringer (Al Voza and late husband Tommie), his brother John (Mary) Russell, and many dear friends, coworkers, and extended family members.

Bob graduated high school at Northeast High School in 1969 and Spring Garden College in 1973. He was a dedicated power plant operator and electrician, working for PECO, Sunoco, and SEPTA throughout a career that spanned over five decades.

Outside of work, Bob was passionate about running and cycling. He completed more than 20 marathons and ran the Broad Street Run 22 times in a row. Always handy and full of energy, he enjoyed home improvement projects, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Bob found great joy on the Tuckahoe River and took pride in supporting his grandchildren at their sports games, dance recitals, and music performances.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Friday, August 22, at the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7900 Oxford Avenue (entrance on Borbeck Street), Philadelphia, PA 19111. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.

A luncheon will follow the service at Joseph's Pizza, 7947 Oxford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper:
