Fred Kuss Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dean-Geitner-Givnish Funeral Home on Feb. 9, 2026.
Ferdinand (Fred) C. Kuss, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the age of 90.

Fred was born in Yeadon, PA and grew up in Brewerytown. As a boy, Fred would often go to Shibe Park to watch the Philadelphia Athletics and the Phillies, collecting many autographs.

Fred attended The Pennsylvania Military Academy & College, graduating in 1956 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Soon after college he married the love of his life, Marge Meinel.

Fred had a long career in the aerospace industry working for Ford Aerospace, Loral Corporation and Lockheed Martin. His project management took him around the world working in Rabat, Riyadh and Lagos.

Fred enjoyed his retirement years traveling with his wife, Marge. His favorite interests included collecting Lionel trains, reading classic and current novels, watching movies, and visiting the Jersey Shore. He was an ardent Philadelphia sports fan.

He adored his grandkids, helping them with life decisions and always asking for hugs.

Fred is survived by Marge, his wife of 68 years, his children: Margaret Ann Kowalski (Thomas), Fred Kuss and Debbie, grandchildren: Brandon Kowalski, Carter Kowalski and Peyton Quinn. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Jars and brother-in-law, Bill Meinel.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Fred's life on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Saint Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Rd., Rydal, PA 19046. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.

Family services are entrusted to the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 215-745-1006.
