Robert Dale Saylor 

February 23, 1957 - September 9, 2024 

Robert Saylor, 67, of New Marshfield, Ohio died unexpectedly on Monday, September 9, 2024, at O’Bleness Hospital. 

Robert was born on February 23, 1957, to the late Dale and Bula Saylor. He was a lifelong resident of New Marshfield. He was a graduate of Alexander High School and a retired employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation. Robert spent his work career enjoying the roads and highways of southeastern Ohio. He was employed with ODOT, and he loved it. He loved working outside, plowing snow in the winters, working on projects with various crews of men throughout his career, and making some life long friends along the way. Rob was a member of the Athens Elks and enjoyed time spent there. Robert loved his family, new trucks, car rides, and his beloved dog Buddy.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. 

He is survived by his daughter, Becki (Steve) Mikola, grandsons Elden and Sonny Mikola of Independence, Kentucky, sisters Rita Saylor (Lynn Scott) and Ronda Saylor (John Patrick) as well as a niece Eden Patrick, and nephew Cooper Patrick, of Yorktown Heights, New York. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12th at Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, OH at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the New Marshfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from noon - 2:00 p.m.
