Robert Frederick Schafer

Robert F. Schafer, 71, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 30, 1954, to Clyde Schafer and Jeanetta Frederick Schafer.
Bob was a country boy through and through. He loved the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, and working on fast cars. He had a gift for building and fixing just about anything, from cars to homes. Bob proudly worked in construction, putting up steel buildings, and later spent over 30 years with CBS Outdoor, where he installed billboards-sometimes as high as 100 feet in the air.
He was a true friend to everyone he met and stayed close with many cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout the years. A talented mechanic, builder, and craftsman, Bob even remodeled his family home by himself. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family deeply.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hughes Schafer; stepdaughters Jeanne Elliott and Kimberly Willhoite (Rick); grandchildren Zack (Yissel), Brandon, Ryan, Keri (Zach), and Marissa; and great-grandsons Adam, Aiden, and Hudson. He is also survived by his brothers Clyde (Anna) and Lewis (Shelia), and his sister Rosie Seitz (Larry).
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Schafer and Jeanetta Frederick Schafer and his sister, Brenda Case.
Bob will be remembered for his hard work, generous heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
