Robert "Bob" Dean Scherff, age 84, of Springfield, Missouri, was called home from this life April 13, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in California, Missouri on October 1, 1938, to Weaver and Anna (Grossglauser) Scherff. He attended California High School and then went on to join the United States Navy. Bob worked with American Republic Insurance and Mutual of Omaha Insurance.
Prior to this career change, he owned Scherff's Truck Line for many years. Bob was an active member of the Walnut Street Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri.
Bob married the love of his life Eleanor Hert on November 1, 1959. To this union were born four children: Bradley, Roger, Albert, and Patricia.
Bob's parents, Weaver and Anna; son, Roger; sister, Betty Parish; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Scherff, precede him in death.
Bob is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons: Brad (Tracy) Scherff and Albert (Sonja) Scherff; daughter: Patricia (Gary) Cooper; 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Kelly (Alex), Kryshia (Eric), Brittany (Mike), Candace, Albert Jr. (Maria), Marvin, Madi, Kaci (Grant), Mitch (Ashley), Melissa (Brandon); and 11 great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed church, gardening, golfing, pool, softball, boating, chess, bridge and reading, but most of all spending time with his loving family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18. 2023, 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM. Funeral services with a final salute by Warriors Watch Riders will follow. Immediately after the funeral service, Bob will be escorted by the Warriors Watch Riders and laid to rest at Eastlawn Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
