Robert George Schieman

Robert George Schieman died peacefully on February 22, 2023. He was being cared for at Safe Haven in Auburn Hills, MI. Robert was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was married for 70 years to Doris Jean Richards, who proceeded him in death. Robert and Doris had three children: Murphy Schieman Ehlers, Scott Spencer Schieman and Christopher John Schieman. Robert, Doris, Murphy, Scott and Chris all graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. Robert continued his education at Fenn College which is now part of Cleveland State University. He received many degrees in Electrical Engineering and held several patents. Bob worked for Reliance Electric Company in Euclid, Ohio before he was transferred with the Drive Division in Research and Development to Athens, Georgia. He retired after working for Reliance for 48 years.
Bob traveled the entire world as a United States authority in power line transmissions. He actively served on IEEE and was an author of IEEE 519 which is still used today. He also served on NEMA.
Bob was the proud grandfather of 6, great grandfather of 8 and helped numerous children and youth as a ski instructor, tennis player and Presbyterian Elder. Bob and Doris were always actively serving in their churches which included Forest Hills Presbyterian in Ohio, Central Presbyterian in Georgia and University Presbyterian in Michigan.
Bob would want to tell everyone that there is nothing in all creation that can ever separate them from the love of God through Jesus Christ. Bob is with God in heaven and celebrating his reunion with Doris. Praise God!
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held in late spring in Rochester Hills, Mi.
