Robert Schoeb Obituary

St. Peter, MN - Robert "Bob" George Schoeb, age 74, one of the 'nicest guys' in St. Peter, passed away June 2, 2025 with family by his side.

Memorial Service is 12:00pm Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Arlington United Methodist Church, Arlington MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. To view the service livestream, or leave a condolence for the family visit www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com. A celebration of life will be held 1:00-3:00pm Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Red Men Club in St. Peter. Memorials can be directed toward the Nicollet County Historical Society or the Diabetes Foundation.

He was born March 28, 1951 in Mankato to Clarence P. and Ruby I. (Lee) Schoeb of St. Peter, MN and was baptized at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Bob attended John Ireland Catholic School and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1969 where he was active in Baseball, Band and Choir; he won many music awards and was selected for the All-State Choir his senior year. He belonged to the Lake Prairie 4-H club and went to the State Fair numerous times.

Bob was a truck driver for the St. Peter Creamery, an employee of Tri-Ag Services and retired as bus driver for the City of St. Peter. He was a gifted musician who sang in choirs his whole life: the Arlington Methodist Church Choir; the Sibley County Chorale and the Minnesota Valley Chorale. When he retired, he would take Sunday drives in his pick-up truck any day of the week that ended in 'Y'! He was 'Uncle Bob' to all of his nieces and nephews and the children of his friends. When he wasn't singing, he was attending concerts, snowmobiling with friends in Danbury, WI or driving around the countryside!

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruby Schoeb, sister Judy Kitzmann and brothers James and Jon. He is survived by siblings Barbara (Richard) Frank of Nicollet; William (Vicki) of Overland Park, KS; Gregory Schoeb of St. Peter; Jackie Schoeb-Johnson of St. Peter; Russell (Roxanne) Schoeb of St. Peter; sisters-in-law: Marsha Schoeb of Woodstock, GA and Wendy Baptist Schoeb of Reeseville, WI; nieces and nephews: Matthew and Philip Schoeb; Kristine, Kent and Kurt Kitzmann; Emily Schoeb; Samantha and Maddie Johnson; Luke and Myranda Schoeb; and Jake and Jennifer Schoeb.

Robert was our chauffeur to "cruse the main drag" with his younger brother Bill and most of the SPHS class of 1971. No trouble, just loads of fun. My condolences to the Schoeb family.
