Robert Schroeder passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2024 at the age of 61.
Robert William Schroeder was born on September 29, 1963 to Melvin (Buck) and Gladys (Hansen) Schroeder in Denver, Colorado. Shortly after his birth, Robert’s family relocated to Delta, Colorado where Robert attended school and graduated in 1982. This is also where he met the love of his life, Ada Fay Jackson. During his teenage years, Robert spent a lot of time with the Jackson boys and he was considered part of the Jackson family. Shortly after Ada’s father, Denzil passed away, Robert and Ada were married on December 22, 1984 in Montrose, Colorado. It was only natural that he officially became part of the Jackson family. Robert and Ada moved to Grand Junction where they welcomed their son, Robert (Robbie) in 1986 and daughter, Heather in 1987. Robert eventually moved his family to Montrose, Colorado, where he started a career building houses in the Telluride, Montrose and Delta area. In 2016, Robert finished building his own house in Delta, Colorado where he and Ada resided until his passing.
Robert was a true renaissance man. He always had several projects going on for family, friends and around his house. Robert was always ready to help everyone at any time. He was especially sought after as a handyman and always had odd jobs to fill his days.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family camping, riding his side by side, and fishing. He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially snowmobiling with his family. Robert's other passion was spending time with his granddaughters, Dallyce and Brooklynn. He took on the role of “Papa” very proudly and would do anything for his granddaughters.
Robert is survived by his wife and best friend, Ada (Jackson) Schroeder, son Robbie (Robert) and daughter-in-law, Miranda Schroeder, daughter Heather Dennis (Schroeder) her two daughters, Dallyce (10) and Brooklynn (6), brother Victor and sister-in-law Debbie Schroeder of Dillon, Colorado and a sister-in-law and her husband, several brothers-in law and their wives, along with nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father, and several dearly beloved pets.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held on January 4, 2025 at 21324 Blue Sky Drive in Delta, Colorado. We would love friends and family to join the Schroeder and Jackson family to honor Robert’s memory. We will be having an open house starting at noon. This will be an informal event, just as Robert would have liked it. We invite you to come share memories (we know there are many good ones out there) with all of his friends and family.
