Robert F. "Bob" Schultz, age 66, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at his home surrounded by the love of his family.
On May 12, 1959 Bob was born in Akron, Ohio. The son of Robert Schultz and Carol (Weirath) Ware. Bob received his education from Cloverleaf High School and graduated with the Class of 1977. After school, Bob went to work as a phone technician and lineman for General Telephones and Electronics Corporation for over 30 years.
To know Bob was to know genuine kindness; the kind that asked for nothing in return and gave everything he had. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a stranger in need Bob would be there, offering a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or simply his presence. He lived his life in humble service to others, never seeking recognition, only hoping to make someone's day a little brighter.
Bob's greatest joy came from his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was so proud of them that he chose to leave his career behind, devoting his time and heart to helping raise them. To Bob, there was no greater joy than being "Grandpa."
A passionate supporter of youth sports, Bob dedicated countless hours to the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association, helping young athletes learn not only the game of golf but also the values of integrity and perseverance. The organization often recognized his unwavering commitment and generosity. Both as a volunteer and donor, yet true to his humble nature, Bob never attended the ceremonies held in his honor. He found his reward in the smiles and successes of the children he helped.
When he wasn't lending his time or energy to others, Bob could be found cheering on his favorite Cleveland teams: the Cavaliers, Browns, and Indians with the same loyalty and enthusiasm he brought to every part of his life.
Bob's legacy is not measured by awards or accolades, but by the countless lives he touched, the kindness he shared, and the love he gave freely. His compassion and humility will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving children: Erica (Chadwick) Monroe an Jimmy (Eliana Beam) Schultz; mother, Carol Ware; grandchildren: Logan Poling, Alexander Schultz, Emmalyn Long, Rheanna Long, Rayma Smith; great-grandchild, Atlas Smith; siblings: Allison, Leslie, Andrew, and Jason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schultz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association in Bob's memory.
Services are being observed privately by the family.
