Robert Sheridan Obituary
October 30, 1942 - June 8, 2025
Robert E. Sheridan, 82, of Missoula, Mont., passed away on June 8, 2025. A memorial service will take place at St. Francis Xavier Church on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 10:30 am with a reception to follow. A full obituary will follow in Saturday's paper.

Bob was a great Griz basketball supporter and a member of our Round ball club. I was also fortunate enough to have had him officiate many of my HS games and I would have loved to have had Bob refereeing my Griz games as well...Win or lose he would have been great.. He was an absolute pleasure to be around and I will miss him sorely..

I only got to meet Bob for a very short time. I wish I had known more about him. Lovely tribute to a wonderful man. God bless Kay, his children, and grandchildren. You are his greatest legacy.

Sad to hear of Robert passing. He was a special friend and great member of the grizzly Round ball golf tournament committee. We shared great times during the 15 years of putting on that event.

Dear Kay: Bob and I went to grade school and high school at the same time, he was a year ahead of me, and I always admired and still admire his kindness, acceptance of others and the example of intelligence well used. Really a sweet man. We send you our prayers and best wishes.

I was Bob's roommate at Notre Dame. That was the start of a 65-year long distance friendship, highlighted by the opportunity to spend time with Bob and Kay at our 50th reunion 11 years ago. I am truly blessed to have known him. My deepest condolences to Kay and their children.

We want to send our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers to Kay and family. Lots of wonderful memories of times with Bob and Kay and Bob's parents over the years. My dad, Jack Leary, worked with Bob's dad for many years in Bonner and Missoula and they were great years. Bob was always there for my parents and for my husband and I when we needed legal advice or just a friend to talk to. Bob helped my brother and I through tough times when our parents passed. Always knew that he would be the calming voice and caring spirit to help us through anything. We will keep Kay and the family in our thoughts and prayers.

I attended 16 years of school with Bob and he was a lifetime personal friend. Etched on a wall at the University of Notre Dame is the motto "God, Countryl, and Notre Dame", to that we could add "Family, Montana, and Legal Professionalism". He lived a life well lived. Bob was a superb person. We represented adverse clients a few times, and remained good friends throughout. I also sought him as settlement master in some matters so he could bring his enormous talent and finesse to get both sides to settle. He was always steady and kind, never missing a chance to smile and chat.
Seeing his obituary caught me by surprise and I feel a loss. He lived an exemplary life and I trust God welcomed his soul. I moved to Miami and sadly will miss his services. Condolences to the family.
