Robert A. Sinkiewicz

Robert A. Sinkiewicz, 90 of Ipswich, died on October 20th. Born in Salem, he was the son to the late John and Gladys (McCourt) Sinkiewicz and beloved partner of Marjorie Lee.
Robert spent most of his life living on the North Shore, and spent the past 25 years living in Ipswich. He was a friend of Bill W for 46 years. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952 and received an honorable discharge in 1956. During the Korean War he served in Morocco on the Admiral's staff, and was part of the shore patrol.
Following his military service, Robert enjoyed a 25 year career as a railroad conductor with Boston and Maine, and Amtrak, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he continued to share his love of the outdoors as a ranger at Crane Beach.
He is survived his long-time partner, Marjorie Lee; two sons, Robert Sinkiewicz, Jr, Robert Rodgers; one daughter, Susan Cosimelli and her partner, James Anketell; one brother, Thomas Sinkiewicz; three grandchildren, Ashley, Chris, Jordan; two great grandchildren.
Bob loved old "stuff". He never passed a yard sale or thrift shop and he was a regular at Todd's every Sunday. Bob considered himself a "picker" with a special interest in old books and watches. He loved to tell stories and would deliver them with a deadpan face and quiet wit. "Never let a few facts get in the way of a good story"
His graveside service will be held at Cowles Cemetery, Ipswich on Thursday November 13th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
