Elizabeth Dorman, 86 of Peabody, died on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Elizabeth (Kerestury) Vogel. She was the beloved wife to the late Thomas Dorman.
Betty graduated from Michigan State University and moved first to the Cape and then settled in Ipswich. She began teaching Art at Hamilton Wenham Regional High School. Her Principal suggested she oversee a handsome student teacher who later became her husband Tom. After helping to raise their two young children, Betty became the Recreation Director for the Town of Ipswich. She gave her heart during her thirty year career as she loved helping children, families and seniors. Betty was active at her church and loved singing in the choir and with Chorus North Shore. After Tom's passing she continued to stay busy and would travel to RI to see her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her son, Matthew Dorman of Lynn, her daughter, Jennifer Poore, son in law Matthew Poore and her grandchildren, Michael and Julia all of East Greenwich.
Her funeral service will be celebrated at Ascension Memorial Episcopal Church, 31 County Street, Ipswich, on Thursday, October 30th, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich from 9:30am to 10:30am. Burial will be at New Highland Cemetery, Ipswich.
