Robert David Six (The Great Bob Six)
Born: June 3rd, 1963 - Passed Away: November 29th, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather – Robert (Bob) David Six, age 61, of Gastonia, NC. Robert (Bob) passed away on Friday, November 29th, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 11 AM Eastern Time at Wilkerson Funeral Home and if you are unable to attend physically please join us online at www.wilkersonfuneralhome.com through his obituary page. We invite all who knew and loved Bob to join us in honoring his life, sharing memories, and celebrating the incredible person he was.
Robert was born in Des Moines, IA, to Wesley and Margaret Six. He spent many years in Des Moines until moving to Mitchellville IA. He was a proud vet – he joined the Air Force in 1983 and after 4 years with them spent 2 years with the Iowa Army Guard. Robert moved with his wife Beverley from Des Moines, IA to Burnsville, MN and then to Gastonia, NC.
He truly loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren – Noah Edwards, Ella Six, Olivia Hartl, Greyson Hartl, Edric Six, Leeiam Six, and Maverick Hogan.
Throughout his life, Bob had a passion for all kinds of music - loved attending concerts, playing his many guitars, and riding his motorcycles as well as attending Carolina Panthers football games. He loved his pets Eli, Jake, and his many chickens. He loved to travel and spent many days in England visiting his wife's side of the family, Portugal, Majorca, Jamaica, Bahamas. He was a fun-loving guy who loved meeting people and had a quirky sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife Beverley. His sisters Kimberly Boyd (Fort Walton Beach, FL) and Cynthia Silver (Richard Silver both of Mitchellville, IA). His children Shawna Edwards (Pleasant Hill, IA), David McQueen (wife Brittany McQueen both of Greenville, NC), Kerri Edwards (Altoona, IA), Tiffany Six (Washington, NC) & James Six (Gastonia, NC), and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Bob was very strong with his faith with God and welcoming him into God's Garden are his parents Wesley & Margaret Six (Mitchellville, IA). His in-laws Dennis & June Legge (Feltwell, England), his brothers-in-law Daniel Boyd and James Sammons, and his grandparents.
We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and beautiful moments we shared with Bob. His spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Rest peacefully, until we meet again.
