Robert D. "Bobby" Skeen, 66, of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at his residence. Born September 4, 1958, in Bedford, he was the son of William D. Skeen and Violet (McKinney) Skeen. He married Donna Jones on June 6, 1992, and she survives.
Bobby had attended Shawswick School and earned his GED. He had also attended college. He loved visiting with friends at class reunions. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Rivers Edge Church of Bedford and he proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp. He was a skilled laborer and achieved multiple certifications at Local 741, of which he was still a current member. He was an avid hunter, going out west several times to hunt deer and elk. He loved his dogs, family and helping others.
Surviving to cherish Bobby's memory is his wife, Donna; daughter, Danille (AJ) Guthrie; son, Adam (Josie) Spradlin; grandchildren, Jaden Coulter, Austin Carmickle, Cole Spradlin, Jackie Spradlin and Emily Spradlin; great grandchild, Laykin Carmickle; brothers, Jack (Linnea) Skeen and Randy (Pattie) Skeen; one niece; one nephew; and a circle of friends.
Preceding Bobby in death were his parents; brother, Jerry Skeen; and son, Jason King.
Funeral services for Bobby will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00pm, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday, January 17th, from 11:00am until the hour of service at Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
Donations in memory of Bobby may be made to Samaritan's Purse or the White River Humane Society.
