We can´t believe Dr. Slover has been gone three years already. His kind, supporting and understanding nature helped guide our son on his journey with T1D. He was, without a doubt, one of the very best physicians we have ever been blessed to work with. Rest in peace!

This is the first I have heard of Robie's passing. We were great friends in Maryland as teenagers. It was his passion in scouting that got me started working on merit badges, and we did many of them together. For one of the requirements for my hiking merit badge, I walked from my house to his (about 5 miles). Due to his example I got my eagle. When I first went to BYU, I stayed for a day or so with his family. Again due to his example I also went into medicine. I started in Pediatrics, but after 2 years switched to OB/Gyn. After he went on his mission to Korea, we lost track of each other. I find it interesting that we both ended up in Colorado, although at different ends of the state. For the last 17 years I have also been teaching at the local university. I miss him. He was a great man.

I just recently heard of the death of Dr. Slover and was saddened to hear of his passing. He was the first physician who took care of my son when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 13. He is now 40 and continues to attend the BDC for his treatment. Dr. Slover has been an excellent care giver to our son. He has been a friend and we miss him. May he rest in peace. Thank you dear friend and physician for the loving care that you have given to so many.

I was a provider at a tiny clinic in SW Colorado for 6 years. When we had a patient who was newly diagnosed or had been a long time diabetic, we always knew they would be taken care of with meticulous care and deep, abiding kindness. To Dr Slover's family, no need to tell you what he meant to his patients but there were a lot of caregivers out there who leaned on his wisdom. We are so much better for having known him.

Dr Slover came to Children's hospital when I was first diagnosed at 12. I was suffering from ketoacidosis and in a coma. He talked with me and my parents about diabetes and was my primary Endocrinologist for the last 5 years. He was very knowledgeable and kind. He helped me a lot and was always there for me. He gave me hope especially when I was first diagnosed. My family and I will miss him.

I've had him as my Endocrinologist for a few years now. He's always been the wisest and calmest specialist I've had. He took interest into my personal life. He made the telemedicine visits fun and full of support, not frustration over my numbers. My family and I will miss him and his wisdom.

Our hearts are broken. Our daughter Grace had the special privilege have Dr. Slover as her doctor for many years, and I had the wonderful personal experience working with Dr. Slover with pediatric telemedicine appointments in the little town of Durango. He was a brilliant man and will be missed.

Growing up in Carrolton, MD, Robbie Slover was my best friend. He inspired me to get my Boy Scout Eagle award. We worked on many merit badges together and we attended BYU together. I stayed with his family for a week when I first started there. Due to his influence, I also became a physician. I started in Pediatrics like he did, but later switched to OB/Gyn. After college we lost touch. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great man.

He has been my hero from the first day of my mission. My life has become totally different after the 2 years with him. I was privileged to serve with him side by side and to see how wonderful and loving he was. He came to my Temple marriage to be a witness just before he flew back to the US after serving his own mission. I became to love and admire him so very much that I named myself and my son ROBERT after my mission. His love and teachings are still running in my family. I always wish to become like him even though it looks unreachable no matter how I try. I am extremely sad and sorry for not having been able to visit with him once again before he went through the other side of the veil. My deepest condolences to his family, especially Robin Slover.

I love and miss him so much.

Dr. Slover will be dearly missed. He was the first diabetes doctor for both of my children (Steven - diagnosed 1996 and Jessica - diagnosed 2005). He was always there for us and very understanding. He had the best smile. He was awesome and I am so sorry for the families loss.
