Robert Francisco Soto Báez

On August 5th, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island, our beloved Robert Francisco Soto Báez left this world at just 34 years old.

Robert was born in the Dominican Republic, where his early years were filled with dreams bigger than his surroundings. He studied at Centro Psicopedagógico Génesis and San Martín de Porres before coming to the United States at the age of 18. Here, he continued his education at Mount Pleasant High School, CCRI, and Johnson & Wales University.

Life did not deal Robert an easy hand. He grew up without many of the comforts people take for granted, and without parents or adults to guide him. Yet, in the face of every obstacle, he built himself into a man of honesty, hard work, and unwavering integrity. His life was a testament to resilience-the kind that comes not from circumstance, but from the heart.

Robert's presence was unforgettable. He was genuine, kind, and dedicated, with a way of making everyone feel seen and valued.

Baseball was his first great love. Though a professional career was out of reach, the game never left his heart-he found joy in watching, cheering, and supporting others who played.

In recent years, Robert discovered a new passion: digital creation. With a brilliant eye and boundless imagination, he transformed and reimagined content in ways that inspired others. Always ahead of his time, his creativity knew no limits. He also dreamed of one day being part of a movie. And of becoming a homeowner, a goal he was so close to achieving.

Above all, Robert was someone you could count on-steady as the sunrise, ready to stand beside you in your happiest moments and your hardest days.

He leaves behind his loving sister, Annerys Soto; his mother, Kenia Báez; his siblings, Laisa Báez and Jael Báez; his nephew Liam Rodrigues Soto; and his maternal grandmother, Nerys Fernández-all of Providence, Rhode Island. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were forever touched by his spirit.

Though Robert is no longer here with us, the love, laughter, and light he brought into the world will never fade. His story will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Services for Robert will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with visitation from 3:00-6:00 PM, immediately followed by a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the A. A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence RI 02904.
