Robert St. Onge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Windham on Jan. 28, 2024.
Robert H. St. Onge of Windham, NH, passed away January 25th, 2024, in Haverhill, MA. He was 80 years old.
Bob was the founder and longtime owner of R&S Carpet in Hudson. He loved tending to that business, grabbing a coffee with his dog at the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru, and most of all his wife, Peggy, their three children and their families.
He was born to Hector and Claire St. Onge on March 26, 1943, in Lowell, MA. He graduated from Dracut High School and shortly after, he met Peggy Lontine with friends in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen in Methuen. It didn't take long for Peggy to replace Bob's pristine Ford Fairlane as the love of his life.
Together they built a fine family, and Bob started a business from scratch, selling appliances near their new home in New Hampshire. That business - R&S Supply - eventually became R&S Carpet, a successful flooring store that was always too busy or never busy enough. He loved it either way.
Bob also loved his Boston sports teams. He loved his Dunkin' drive-thru companions Higgins, Tess and Oliver. He especially loved his family and having a full house. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored "Papa." He was a gentle, principled and good man. We all will miss him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Peggy, son Robert St. Onge (Osvaldo) of East New York, NJ; son Peter St. Onge (Courtney) of Charlotte, NC; daughter Susan Laroche (Brian) of Danville, NH; sister Delores Conley of Lawrence; brother Donald St. Onge (Sharon) of Methuen; brother Richard St. Onge (Mary) of Methuen, MA; brother Paul St. Onge (Irene) of Salem, NH; sister Diane Rudis (Alan) of Methuen and brother Daniel St. Onge (Candace) of Methuen. He also is survived by grandchildren Jake, Cody and Max Schlichte, Joel and Walton St. Onge, and great grandchildren Branden, Hunter, Jack and Stella Schlichte.
Visitation will take place Friday from 4 pm to 7 p.m. at Carrier Family Funeral Home, Windham, NH 03087. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, at 10 a.m. at funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cemetery on the Plains in Windham.
