Robert S. "Bob" Stanbrough

Robert S. "Bob" Stanbrough, 96 ¼, of Huntingdon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at his residence. Born October 29, 1925 in McAlevys Fort, he was a son of the late Harrison H. and Rhoda M. (Troutwien) Stanbrough. He was united in marriage to the former Bernice I. Varner on February 2, 1952, in Hagerstown, MD. His wife of 68 years preceded him in death on January 4, 2021.
He is survived by two daughters, Galene Harkleroad and her husband, Bill, of Huntingdon and Debbie McIntyre of Hope, IN; two granddaughters, Sarah Billman of Mill Hall and Erin Miller of Bedford, IN; and three great-granddaughters, Claire, Caroline, and Charlotte Miller. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Stanbrough; and a son-in-law, Everett McIntyre.
Mr. Stanbrough was a member of the 15th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, since 1959.
He was a 1943 graduate of the Petersburg Vocational High School, Petersburg.
Bob was employed by the former Mead Products – Alexandria; and retired in 1988 as a Envelope Machine Adjuster, after 43 years of service.
He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed watching races at Hesston Speedway.
Friends may call from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 and from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 17th, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Barbara A. Servello officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Jackson Township, Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in remembrance of Robert S. Stanbrough may be made to the 15th Street United Methodist Church, 1500 Moore St., Huntingdon, PA 16652.
