Dr. Robert L. "Bobby" Taylor, age 77, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born on February 15, 1946, in Henderson County, North Carolina, and was the son of the late Walter Honess Taylor (12/11/2003) and the late Essie Pruitt Taylor (04/12/1989).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dixie Blanton Costner (04/12/1989); one brother, James Carroll Taylor (08/21/1993); and one nephew, Freddie Taylor (06/05/1972).
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Bobby's professional life was dedicated to helping people. He worked for Apple Country Transit for nearly eight years before finding his true passion at The Trolley Company, where he loved his job until his last moments. But Bobby's impact went beyond his career.
In his free time, Bobby worked tirelessly in "his" yard, creating a beautiful oasis that his neighbors envied. He also took pride in starting and teaching a Sunday School class for "Older" adults at Shaws Creek Baptist Church and later at West Hendersonville Baptist Church. His dedication to sharing his faith with others was a testament to his kind and compassionate nature.
Bobby got to move back "HOME" on June 24, 2012, when he married Dianne Hill, whom he was close to celebrating their 11th year anniversary with.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Hill Taylor; one daughter, Krystal Taylor Moore of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one son, Robert Jeffrey Taylor and his wife, Audrey; ten grandchildren, Trevor Taylor, Kadrian Taylor, Tyler Moore, Megan Doolittle, Logan Taylor, Haley Moore, Kierstyn Moore, Dayson "Dada" Caines, Jaxon Taylor, and Dakota Taylor; and one great-grandson, Silas Caines. Bobby is also survived by one brother, Gary Uyless Taylor of Chuckey, Tennessee; nieces, Robin Waldbart, Lisa Summey, Sheila Sexton, Debbie Rickman, Darlene Ayers, Wanda Graham, and Pam Williams; and one nephew, Jimmy Taylor.
Funeral services for Bobby will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at West Hendersonville Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mullinax and Rev. Barry Pruitt officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church. The interment will be held at Shepherd Memorial Park.
Bobby's life was one of kindness, dedication, and love. Those who knew him will remember his selflessness, his generous heart, and his unwavering faith. He will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Such a shock! Pastor Robert Taylor will be missed. He was truly a man of God. My children and I attended Liberty Baptist Church when it was on White Street in Rock Hill, SC. What a blessing his singing & preaching was. My children grew up in his church. He always made anyone feel welcomed and a part of his family. RIP until we meet again. Prayers for his family. Love ya'll .
