Robert Timmer

Robert W. Timmer, age 90, joined his beloved wife in eternal rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born on December 14, 1933 in Holland, MI to John & Ada Timmer.
A veteran of the United States Army, Robert served honorably during the Korean war era and attained the rank of Specialist 3rd Class.
He was employed for over thirty years by Texaco Oil in both Michigan and Port Arthur, Texas. Bob was also a former member of the Rose Park Reformed Church and in recent years, he attended First Presbyterian Church of Ocala, Florida.
Bob had a passion for woodworking, fishing, and barbecuing, making some of the best brisket you'd ever had. He treasured family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for sharing stories and his playful teasing, Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Renee Timmer, and his daughter, Dawn Sterken.
He is survived by his daughters Elly & Dave Zeerip of Holland, MI, Cindy & Arlan Meekhof of Zeeland, MI, Brenda & Mike Nykamp of Barryton, KS, Arlene & Steve Wolters of Holland, MI, and Faye Timmer & Sally Collins of Englewood, NJ; by his son-in-law, Greg Sterken; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd & Elaine Timmer; his sister, Jean Alverson; his 15 grandchildren, and his 17 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for both Robert & Renee with military honors will be held at Get Togethers in Zeeland on Friday, May 31st, 2024 from 1pm-3pm. (152 E Main Ave unit b, Zeeland, MI 49464)
