Robert "Bob" Frank Turnure Jr. was born in Washington D.C. on January 11, 1930 to Robert Turnure Sr. and Evelyn Turnure (nee' Clocker). He passed away on September 2, 2025 at his home in Marthasville, Missouri with his wife, Francie, by his side.
Bob attended Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. Upon graduating, Bob enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country for three years before being discharged honorably. After being discharged, Bob attended The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. earning a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Bob was then hired by the Missouri State Highway Department which was located in Kirkwood, Missouri at the time. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the department for over 35 years before retiring.
On September 16, 1989, Bob married Frances "Francie" Monroe in Webster Groves, Missouri. They settled in Glendale, Missouri and then eventually moved to Marthasville, Missouri where they lived happily for many years.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed a number of different hobbies. Bob enjoyed reading with his favorite genre being historical non-fiction. He could often be found outside with his wife, Francie, enjoying their shared hobby of gardening. Bob held a great love of animals and gave a home to many cats. He was particularly fond of his tabby cat, Lucky, who was by his side when he passed. Most of all, Bob loved his family and friends. Bob will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and his love for his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Frank Turnure Sr. and Evelyn C. Turnure.
He is survived by his wife, Francie Turnure (nee' Schaub); two sons, Robert (Patricia) Turnure III of Columbus, OH and Michael (Denise) Turnure of West Park, NY; step-daughter, Julie (Patrick) Lesicko of Staunton, IL; five grandchildren; and many other cherished family members and friends.
Visitation for 95-year-old Bob Turnure Jr. will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO. A parish rosary will be held beginning at 3:45pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Marthasville with Rev. Dennis Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at the Presbyterian Church of Washington Cemetery on Pottery Road in Washington, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, or to Mercy Hospice in Washington, MO.
