Robert "Bob" Urbanek, most proudly called Papa, 81, a longtime resident of Dracut, MA, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2025, while at home. Bob leaves behind a life full of love, family, friendship, and hard work.

Born on May 17, 1944, Bob was the eldest child of Charles and Mildred (Lopes) Urbanek. He was raised in Lowell along with his siblings, Charlene, Frank, and Debra.

Bob began a long career in construction alongside his uncle before starting his own small carpentry business, Urbanek Building and Remodeling. He spent many years as foreman for MaxMar Corporation, later returning to self employment in his second company, URBACO. After retiring from carpentry, he stayed active in the industry drawing house plans, delivering a set on the day he passed.

Bob was educated at the Saint Stanislaus School and Keith Academy in Lowell, Ma. He met Lorraine Fournier at the Policeman's Ball in Lowell and they married three years later and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Bob and Lorraine spent much of their time on shared interests. They watched the Red Sox, tried new restaurants, listened to the Beatles, and took many trips around the country with a focus on visiting National Parks.

There was nothing more important to Bob than his family. He treasured his three daughters who were delighted to have him as a father. He adored (and was adored by) his seven grandchildren and he attended every type of function to support them. He was thrilled to be a part of the lives of his 6 great grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Fournier); three daughters and their husbands, Donna (Steven) Lizotte, Laurie (Marc) Laurent, and Sharon (Michael) Sheehan; seven grandchildren Holly (Gerrie) DeWet, Courtney (Evan) Dana, Brooke Lizotte, Jake (Sydney) Laurent, Lauren (Greg) Best, Julia Sheehan, and Alexandra Sheehan; and six great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many dear friends, including Brian and Karen Lamoureux who became his extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the American Heart Association.
