Robert 'Crow' Vizena, 95, of Negaunee, passed away Monday evening, March 11, 2024 at his home.
Robert was born December 14, 1928 in Negaunee to Wilfred and Clemence (LaPointe) Vizena, attended Negaunee schools and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.
Robert was a hard worker and held many employment positions throughout his career; diamond drilling, working at the Tracy Mine, as a police officer for the City of Negaunee, and lastly with security for CCI from where he retired. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and VA Romo Post #3165, Negaunee VFW.
Robert enjoyed living along the Carp River, watching the deer and birds with his late wife, Louise, and working in the yard and cutting the grass. He was a dedicated family man, most important to him was caring for his family spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his son, Daniel Vizena of Negaunee; daughter, Gail Sippola of National Mine; grandchildren: Darryll (Gwen) Healey, Brian (Kelly) Healey, Michael (Jill) Waters, Debra (Paul) Coleman, Heather (Chris) Vizena, Angela Shipley, Daniel (Ashley) Vizena and Samantha Vizena; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise (Peterson) Vizena in 2017; daughter, Marjorie Healey; two infant sons: Darryll Paul and Paul Frederick Vizena; his brother, Wilfred 'Poly' Vizena; and six sisters: Nancy Finnila, Emily Kellow, Bernice Sharf, Jeannette Mainville, Margaret Mitchell and Joyce Jeffreys.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 15th at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday, and also at luncheon in the St. Paul Gymnasium immediatly following Mass. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
