Cumberland, MD – Robert "Bob" Wariner, Jr., born September 9, 1965, Front Royal, VA, currently of Cumberland, MD sadly left us on Saturday, December 3, 2022, doing what he loved best, hunting. A great deal of Bob's time was spent on his family's farm in Oldtown, MD, where he engaged in agriculture and raising livestock. Bob was an avid huntsman as well, and had been recognized by the Maryland State DNR for being one of the best trappers of this area. He was a member of the Piney Mountain Sportsman Club, in addition to the American Kennel Club. Bob was a 1984 Graduate of Mt. Savage High School and attended Garrett Community College in the Wildlife Program.
Bob is survived by his best friend and fur baby: Solomon; his children: Erica (Wariner) and Eric Hartman, Petersburg, WV; Kristopher Wariner, Fairmont, WV; Cassidy (Wariner) VanMeter, Petersburg, WV; and Matthew Wariner, Corriganville, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Hayden, Harlyn, Hanson, Piper, Leighanna, and Jace: his parents: Joyce (Wolfe) and Karl Hartig, Sr., Corriganville, MD; siblings: Sheila (Wariner) and Jeff Bridges, Corriganville, MD; Linda Wariner. Cumberland; and Karl and Molly Hartig, also of Cumberland; nieces and nephews: Jesse Jeffries, Angela (O'Brien) Vadney, Cole McCormick, Ian McCormick, Hunter Bridges, Jocelyn Wariner, Jacques "Liam" Wariner, and Kambria Hartig; and his great nephews: Braylon, Marcus, Bentlee, Kellen, and August.
Bob was predeceased by his father: Robert Wariner, Sr.; his sister: Janet Jeffries; and his nephew: Steven O'Brien.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. To honor Bob's memory, we are holding a celebration of life following the visitation, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Glass officiating.
At Bob's request, he will be cremated. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life. We ask attendees to bring any pictures of Bob and memories to be shared with the family and friends.
