Robert Warner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Orem on Dec. 18, 2025.
Robert (Bob) Ernest Werner, a devoted husband, loving father, faithful servant of God, and proud patriot, was born on October 18, 1944, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Orem, Utah, at the age of 81. Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly fifty-five years, Suzanne Werner, the light of his life and his eternal companion. He is deeply missed by his daughter, Kristine Harms (husband Curtis); his sons, Robert F. Werner (wife Adrienne), Sean Werner (wife Eve), Terry Werner (wife Michelle), and Anthony Werner (wife Maria); seventeen adored grandchildren whom he took great joy in; and his dear younger brother, Larry Werner (wife Jeri).

Throughout his life, Bob's heart was guided by three unwavering priorities: God, Family, and Country.

With profound patriotism, Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably from 1966 to 1969, including a deployment to Vietnam. Though his deepest dream was to teach young minds, he felt compelled to protect his nation, earning a master's degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University and dedicating his career to national security. His commitment extended to his community as well, where he served a four-year term on the Franklin-McKinley School Board in San Jose, California, pouring his heart into improving education for his own children and countless others.

While raising his family in San Jose and Morgan Hill, California, Bob worked tirelessly as an electrical engineer, often long hours, all to provide a beautiful life filled with opportunity for his family. He was far more than a provider-he was a devoted coach, scoutmaster, teacher, mentor, and father to his five children. His legendary "dad jokes" were his signature way of bringing joy, laughter, and embarrassment to his children. This was especially true when talks in church opened with his well-rehearsed jokes.

Bob's faith was the foundation of his life. He served as a missionary in Brazil and loved speaking Portuguese any chance he could the remainder of his life. He poured his heart into family history work, serving faithfully for fourteen years as a family history missionary-diligently seeking out ancestors, preserving their sacred stories, and helping countless others discover the profound blessing of their own heritage. He found great joy as a temple worker in both the Oakland California Temple and the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, serving with quiet devotion. Above all, Bob humbly acknowledged his imperfections, yet his unwavering faith and testimony of Jesus Christ shone as the greatest treasure of his life. He lived with the joyful assurance of eternal families and eagerly anticipated reuniting with loved ones who went before him. Though we will miss his warm smile and endless supply of "dad jokes," our hearts are comforted knowing he is preparing new ones for the glorious day we join him again.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 947 N. Jack Rabbit Run, Saratoga Springs, Utah, on December 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Camp Williams at 11:30 a.m.
