Robert C. Weiland 83, of Brookings, SD passed away Thursday July 11, 2025 at the VA Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. Private family burial will be held at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD. Rude's Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Robert C. Weiland was born March 30, 1942 in Sioux Falls, SD the son of Camille and Constance (Evenson) Weiland. He grew up and attended school in Rutland, SD graduating from Rutland High School in 1960. He lettered in Track while he was in High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1961 and served in the active Army until August of 1962 and went on to serve in the South Dakota Army National Guard until 1968 when he was honorably discharged. Robert was a Diesel Mechanic at T & R Electric in Colman, SD. He loved animals, he raised pigs, loved working on his tractors and trading pickups, he also loved wood working. He enjoyed taking summer drives around Lake Campbell. He enjoyed tractor pulls, auctions and loved visiting with his family and friends. Robert is survived by his four daughters, Judy (Todd) Curry of Newcastle, OK, Donna (Doug) Kruse of Adrian, MN, Lori Weiland of Tuttle, OK and Sara Weiland of Tuttle, OK; his grandchildren, Kylie Curry, Kade (Hillary) Curry, Hailey (Carver) Dorsman, Maggie Kruse, Tanges Kruse, Cody (Danielle) Gannon, Taylor (Bryanna) Ebeling, Preston Parks, Garrett (Gracen) Fisher, and Marti (Ryan) Mackey; great grandchildren, Hadley Humphrys, Thea Curry, Sylvie Miller, Easton Fisher, Anderson Fisher, Beckett Mackey and Stella Mackey and his sister, Audrey (Jim) Herron. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Constance; a brother, Tommy Weiland, a sister, Patricia Guss and a brother-in-law, Paul Guss.
